Stefan Burger’s works frequently focus on the margins and fault lines between what is shown and what might be shown. Originally an exponent of art photography, Burger now works in any medium that allows him to glimpse behind the veil of ostensible reality. His work at the Rietberg turns on the “everyday objects” of Chinese ceramics, which he successfully undermines with the aid of window-dressing techniques.
