Lukas Bärfuss was born in 1971 in Thun. Since 1997 he lives and works as a freelance writer in Zurich. He writes prose and radio and theater plays. He currently ranks among the most important German playwriters. In 2008 his first novel, “Hundred Days” was published, for which he received the Anna Seghers Prize 2008. For his literary work, and especially his plays, Bärfuss won the Berlin Literature Prize 2013.
